What's New: Avery is getting so big! No, really. She is big! An impromptu weigh in at the doctor showed us that our squishy is 18 lbs! She very long too, so it's proportionate, but now I definitely know why my arm is getting heavy carrying her!
She is loving school and starting to do so much more. She jumps in the jumperoo and doorway jumper, plays with the toys on the exersaucer, can pick up and mouth toys, and is getting much more alert and receptive to talking and interaction. Many new faces and babbling sounds. You have to try hard, but she has the cutest laugh! Smiles, however, are abundant. :)
She's getting more steady at sitting and starting to roll to her side, but so far can't sit on her own or roll all the way to her tummy. For now, I am happy for her not to roll. I remember how difficult Luca's sleep became when he started to roll to his tummy and didn't know what to do.
She has moved on to size 2/3 Pampers Swaddlers and can wear 6-12 mos clothes (although big).
Eating: She started eating solids and so far she's just like her big bro and does not care for mushy food. She sort of eats oatmeal and applesauce, but after a few bites she calls it quits. And every bite still results in a sour face. It's disapointing to me that neither of my kids enjoy baby food, since I love making and feeding it! We'll keep trying though...
Sleeping: She's napping about 3 times a day. Two naps are about 45 min - 1 hr and one nap is usually longer, 2-3 hours. She is still a great sleeper at night, but continues to wake around 4:15 am for a bottle. For some reason, she can't seem to eliminate that feeding. She's such a good girl and good sleeper otherwise though, I hate to try to make her give it up.
Health: She's had a chronic cold since starting daycare, but that was expected. Right now she has a horrible barky-croupy cough and runny nose. But her spirits are high and she's still sleeping well, thankfully. No more ear infections though... we're keeping our fingers crossed!
Happy 5 months baby girl! You are still growing TOO fast!!!
